"Cultural Harmony of Afghanistan and Iran in Europe; The Flourishing of Migrant Publishing in the Shadow of Persian Literature"

On Friday, October 25, Form Publishing had the honor of participating in a literary event hosted by the Norwegian Writers’ Association. This program was attended by a group of writers, poets, and enthusiasts of Persian literature.


The event began at 6:00 PM, creating a cultural atmosphere filled with enthusiasm to celebrate Persian poetry, especially the works of the renowned poet, Shahriar.


The program commenced with "Elias Pourgholam," who captivated the audience with a ghazal by Shahriar, leading them into the enchanting world of this poet. He then briefly discussed the artistic features of Shahriar's works. Mr. Pourgholam's insights not only deepened the audience's understanding of Shahriar but also enriched the uplifting spirit of the event.


Following him, "Maryam Mousavi" read another ghazal by Shahriar, elevating the beauty and delicacy of his poetry and drawing the audience's attention to the subtlety and profound impact of this famous poet's verses.


In the next segment, "Abbas Shokri," the director of Aftab Publishing, spoke about the establishment and operations of Aftab Publishing. He highlighted the importance of publishing Persian literary works abroad and preserving Persian literature among younger generations outside Iran, emphasizing the necessity of preventing censorship in literary works and detailing Aftab Publishing's activities in this regard.


After a short break, "Mr. Javad Akbari" took the stage and revived the poetic atmosphere of the event by reciting a poem by Shahriar. His passionate performance created a warm and welcoming environment, reminding the audience of the golden age of Persian poetry.


Next, "Mr. Nasser Karami" delved into the significance of South Persian literature, offering a profound examination of its place and importance within Persian literature. He effectively described the unique style and perspective of South Persian literature in the works of its writers. His remarks were particularly well-received, clearly illustrating the prominent role of local culture in Persian literature.

In the concluding segment, "Hamid Mirzad," the director of Form Publishing, delivered an extensive speech about the approach of her publishing house. She outlined the operational processes of Form Publishing and emphasized the importance of publishing authentic and serious literature, particularly in light of threats posed by literary mafias and the prevalence of banality in modern Persian literature. Hamide Mirzad presented innovative perspectives, familiarizing the audience with the challenges and responsibilities a publisher faces in confronting these crises and reaffirming the cultural mission of Form Publishing.



The open discussion held at the end of the program provided participants with the opportunity to exchange views and experiences regarding the role of literature in cultural transmission and identity preservation. This segment was warmly welcomed by the audience, concluding a memorable evening filled with cultural and literary experiences.

This literary gathering concluded in a friendly atmosphere characterized by cultural collaboration among Persian speakers from Afghanistan and Iran, creating sweet memories of a poetic and cultural night for all attendees.
